Jewelry Care

Cape & Islands Charm primarily uses stainless steel and some sterling silver. All of the gold jewelry has a base metal of stainless steel and is then gold plated. The gold wire used is non-tarnishing brass. We understand that every person is different with their own individual skin- oils and can react differently to certain metals and materials. Therefore, we are not responsible for your skin's reaction to our products. We advise to make sure you know your skin's allergens before placing and order with us. Please review each product's description for all materials used.

Our stainless steel pieces are OK in the water but will oxidize and dull sterling silver over time. Stainless steel is durable and resists corrosion and oxidation. Stainless steel can be worn daily as it will not rust, tarnish or turn your skin green. We advise not to wear our gold pieces in the water as long exposure to water can dull, tarnish or wear off the gold plating over time.

Any zinc alloy materials can tarnish and discolor. To help prevent tarnishing/discoloration & keeping your jewelry lasting long, it is suggested to avoid moist or wet conditions when not wearing. Wiping with a soft cloth after use is suggested as well.

Be sure to take necessary and all precautions in taking care of your jewelry and keeping them looking great and lasting long.

All of the necklaces have a lobster claw closure
